Choose Kosoom and experience the difference in precision lighting.
To make a narrow beam spotlight, you can refer to the following steps.
Choose high brightness LED as the light source
High-brightness LED beam itself is narrower and more concentrated, is a good light source for the production of spotlights. Generally choose more than 5000K color temperature, power in more than 6W.
Select the reflector cup
Light source placed in front of a funnel-shaped or parabolic reflector cup, can effectively gather light, forming a more parallel beam. The material of the reflective cup to the high reflectivity of the material is better, such as steel or aluminum.
Adjust the position of the light source and the reflector
The light source should be located at or near the focal point of the reflector, only the light source in the right place, the reflector can play the maximum light gathering capacity.
Increase the lens
In front of the reflection cup to add a convex lens, you can further collect the light, adjust the parallelism of the beam and diffusion angle. Choose a shorter focal length, the material is PMMA or PC convex lens.
Adding a lens in the spotlight is a key measure to further improve the beam gathering effect.
When choosing a lens, the following points should be noted.
the focal length of the lens
The focal length of the lens for spotlight is shorter, usually below 50mm. The shorter the focal length, the more concentrated the light, the narrower the beam. But the focal length is too short will make the light too concentrated, resulting in obvious color profile.
Material selection
Recommend the use of PMMA (acrylic resin) or PC (polycarbonate) material lens. These two materials have good light transmission, strong light resistance, and lower cost. Glass optical lens, although higher performance, but more expensive, and easy to break.
focus angle adjustment
You can choose different lenses to get different beam spotting angle (or divergence angle). The smaller the angle of concentration, the more concentrated the beam, the smaller the irradiation range. According to the actual needs to choose the right angle of focus.
Parallelism requirement
For spotlights, the parallelism of the lens is also an important parameter. High parallelism can get nearly parallel beam, irradiation light point clear. Parallelism and the working distance of the lens also has a relationship, the working distance is too short will make the parallelism decline.
lens specifications selection
The diameter and structure of the lens also need to match the choice of reflective cup and light source. The diameter is too small to effectively use the light, too large is too large, not easy to install.
In addition to the above points, in the installation of the lens and the light source and the position of the reflection cup also need to be precisely adjusted, so that the three optical axis to achieve the best overlap, the best collection of light and parallel output.
Select the sighting device (optional).
If you need to accurately adjust the direction of the spotlight, you can add a sight to the head to assist in alignment. Common types of spotlight sights are laser aiming and red dot aiming.
Adjustment bracket (optional).
For ease of use, the spotlight can be mounted on a self-adjusting bracket. This allows for more accurate adjustment and fixing of the spotlight’s angle of illumination.
Adding a sight is a great way to easily and accurately adjust the direction of the spotlight.
Common types of sights are
- laser sighting: use the laser module to send out a linear laser to assist in aiming. Easy to operate, aiming accuracy, but the laser may cause some interference, and the need for additional power supply laser module work.
- red dot sight: use the red dot generated by the LED to aim. There is no laser interference, but the aiming accuracy is slightly lower, the light may become less clear at a distance. Red dot sights are relatively low volume and cost. 3.
- lens sight: in the light head with a small hole, with a movable lens, move the lens so that the light emitted in the small hole to align with the target, so as to achieve the purpose of aiming. The cost and technical difficulty is high, and the aiming accuracy is high. Mostly used in the direction of the more fixed spotlight equipment.
- other types: there are laser clues, reflector aiming and other types, but less used in spotlights.
When choosing the type of sight, the main points to consider.
- aiming accuracy requirements: different types of aiming accuracy, depending on the specific needs of the choice.
- Spotlight environment: outdoor use needs to consider the climatic resistance of each type of sight; there is no glare, etc. will affect the aiming effect.
- Cost and volume requirements: different sights also have differences in price and volume.
- Ease of installation: Some sights are more complicated to install and require professional knowledge, which is also one of the factors to be considered for selection.
You also need to consider its compatibility with the spotlight and the solidity of the installation to ensure that it can play a stable and accurate targeting role. We have many years of experience in the design of spotlights and lighting equipment, familiar with the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of sights and practical applications, we can provide you with the best sight selection guidance for your specific needs.
Test and debug.
After the assembly is completed, power on the test, check the beam gathering effect and the work of each part. According to the actual beam irradiation performance of the necessary small adjustment, and fixed the position of each adjustable parts.
In addition to the above, the housing performance, heat dissipation design is also worth considering the factors. In general, high brightness LED light source, high performance reflector and lens are the key to form a narrow beam, and the aimer and adjustment bracket can achieve more accurate irradiation control, the reasonable selection and combination of these factors is the basis for making a high per”Introducing the new Kosoom narrow beam spotlight, designed for precision lighting in any space.
