Benefits of LED Lighting Products in 2022

2023 03 25 18 54 56

LED is a lighting technology that works through electroluminescence. It is a solid-state semiconductor device capable of converting electric energy into visible light. A semiconductor wafer is at the heart of the LED, with one end cured to the bracket with silver or white glue, silver or gold wire connecting the chip and the circuit board, and the four sides sealed with epoxy resin.

The LED is currently more efficient, safer, and more durable than all the other lighting technologies. It is widely used not only because it can be used as decorative lighting, but also because it is used in every line and industry, and the price is decreasing as LED becomes more popular.

What are the advantages of led lights?

1、stronger than traditional lamps

The first incandescent bulb was made up of a thin tungsten wire that was passed through an electric current and a vacuum glass bulb. These two fragile parts create the overall vulnerability of the incandescent lamp. —— Even a slight impact can destroy the glass shell, while a sudden impact or violent vibration can destroy the filament.

Every holiday season, everyone has the pain of accidentally breaking small incandescent bulbs against the wall or putting them together, and even in your warehouse, they may be broken by some movement.

The LED bulbs are packaged in an epoxy resin that is not as fragile as glass, and the LED assembly itself is a relatively robust solid-state semiconductor. This material makes the LED less damaged, more resistant to vibration, and generally more durable.

2、light

As scientists continue to research and develop, LED products will be more efficient in the future. LED products’ low power and light weight will be ideal for lighting today, as the use of lamps allows LED products to be integrated into control systems that can be controlled remotely via smartphones and tablets.

With the falling price of LED products, the long-term increase in energy costs, and the improvement of LED efficiency, LED can shorten the payback period of investment, and now turning to LED will be your best choice.

3、Cold and hot temperatures

LED, which can work stably over a wide range of operating temperatures without significant degradation. Compared with fluorescent lamps, low temperatures may affect its normal operation, but LED lighting can operate in cold and low temperature environments; it can be used at -40 degrees Celsius in heavy snow weather, a freezer, and other places.

4、Safe operating temperature

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, incandescent lamps are the hottest lamps, releasing 90 percent of their capacity to heat rather than light, and even the previously popular CFL releases 80 percent of its energy to heat rather than light, which makes their surface temperature very high and risks burns if people are accidentally touched.

Because the operating temperature of LED lamps is much lower and the harm is also lower, the life of LED lamps is much longer, and the life can reach 3-5 times that of traditional lamps.

5、Color rendering index

The color rendering index (CRI) refers to the ability of the light source to restore the visual perception of the sun. The higher the color rendering is, the closer the color rendering index value is to 100, the stronger the color reduction ability of the object is, and the easier it is for the human eye to distinguish the color of the object.

High CRI is usually an ideal feature (and, of course, depends on the desired application). For CRI, LEDs usually have very high (good) ratings.

Perhaps the best way to understand CRI is to directly compare LED lighting (with a high CRI) to traditional lighting solutions such as sodium vapor lamps (usually with poor CRI grades and, in some cases, almost monochrome).

6、LED kaleidoscope of colors

The incandescent bulbs emit a very comfortable, warm glow. It is very soft and eye-friendly, making it a great light for many of us. But with the demand of various spaces and designers’ more wonderful inspiration, we need more flexible color temperature control lamps, and obviously, LED is the best choice. Using LED lighting, you can get any color on the color temperature chart. The LED lights also emit this light with a constant color temperature.

7、Flexible control mode

LED allows you to achieve different lighting effects in a fixed space because the LED can be equipped with lighting, dimming, occupancy sensors, a timer, and other functions. Let’s take the dimming feature as an example, and you can get the brightness level that best suits you, depending on the time of the day.

During the day, when the sun shines into your window, the LED can automatically reduce the luminous power, bringing the indoor illumination to the appropriate level.

At night, after the sun goes down, the LED can automatically increase the luminous power, making the space bright.

You can also achieve direction control over LED light, which means you can specify the direction you want without wasting excess energy.

In addition, they are able to produce more focused light in the 180-degree range, which is different from conventional lamps that emit this focused light in the 360-degree range.

8、color temperature correlation

LEDs have a variety of associated color temperature (CCT) values. Buy lights with “warm” light yellow light, “cold” white light, and a variety of other options.

9 、Application diversity

The LED light source can be large or small and can be used for almost any scene you can think of. They can be used as ordinary small signal lights as well as large spotlights, and they can be embedded in any work of art you want. Almost all of your lighting inspiration can be achieved through LEDs.

10、 Tuning ability

LED, which can be run at any percentage of its rated power (0–100%). It’s important to note that they require LED-specific, technical dimming techniques (which means you can’t use dimming devices for incandescent bulbs or other traditional lighting technologies). A very big advantage of LED lighting operating below full power is that it becomes more efficient as the power decreases. This also extends the total life of the lamps. Technologies such as metal halides do not have these two advantages; they are actually less efficient at lower power and, in many cases, cannot dim at all.

11、Controlling the light direction is simple.

The LED lighting technology is limited to only 180 degrees of luminous angle. Other types of lamps emit 360-degrees of light around the light source. 360-degree emissions require accessory equipment that reflects and/or redirects light. This usually increases the cost of the system and inevitably leads to losses, meaning that the device is necessarily less efficient than in other conditions. Consider a light in the ceiling—that is your standard bulb. The problem is that you want to illuminate the room, not the ceiling. The LED completely solves this problem and saves costs in terms of accessories and energy consumption.

12、Prices are getting lower and lower.

As LED technology matures, LED lighting products are getting cheaper and cheaper. Six years ago, special LED lamps cost around $80, but the same LED lamps cost only about half what they do today, and they work better!

This means that replacing traditional lamps in the home with LED lamps is more affordable than ever. Although there will be no significant difference in the first purchase price, the fact that the lower lamp power and longer service life are 20 times longer than the incandescent and halogen equivalent lights means that the payback period should be less than a year, so we think it must be an investment worth making!

13、Product diversity

Whether it is outdoor landscape lighting, indoor ordinary lighting, or decorative lighting, it is likely that there is always an LED bulb to meet your needs. Its rugged structure and various shapes and sizes make LED lighting extremely versatile. Also, many LED bulb manufacturers produce indoor LED bulbs that look similar to the shape of traditional incandescent bulbs. This makes even the most elegant lighting devices easy to choose LED bulbs for without compromising their visual appeal. Their energy-saving effect combined with the ability to fit into almost any lighting device makes LED lighting a perfect combination of style and substance.

14、Design flexibility

LED light arrays can be placed and combined in a myriad of ways to produce efficient and controlled illumination. The color, shade, brightness, and distribution of the light can be controlled to perfection, which provides not only technically useful lighting but also soothing, uplifting, or vibrant emotional lighting.

The range of LED products is increasing, and products like LED light bars that can change color and brightness make it easier to produce light effects almost anywhere.

The quality and color of the light produced by the LED bulb are relatively mild to the eye. When full chromatography is combined with darkness, it produces white light because it lacks all colors.LED bulbs often combine red, green, and blue LEDs to produce white light. The color of LED lighting can be measured by the color rendering index (CRI), and the CRI is a measure of how accurate the light source’s rendering of color is compared to the same color under completely natural light. The range of the CRI is 1-100, and the higher the CRI level, the more accurate the color that the bulb can present. LED bulbs usually have a high CRI, and some LED bulbs have a 90+ CRI rating.

15、Repair costs are lower

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, the average life of conventional incandescent bulbs is about 1,000 hours, and the CFL has an average life of 10,000 hours with significantly better performance. LED, the bulb has a surprising life of 25,000 hours and better performance than the first two. Because LED bulbs last about 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs, the replacement frequency of LED bulbs will be reduced by 25 times. This shows that the frequency of asking an electrician to repair the lamps is greatly reduced, and the maintenance cost is, of course, very low.

16、Economy, longevity

The LED is one of the most energy-efficient and cost-effective light sources on the market. Their low power consumption, high reliability, and long life enable buyers to achieve significant energy savings and reduced maintenance throughout the life cycle of LED lamps.

Recent advances in LED lighting technology have prompted the government to quickly adopt the technology. As energy demand and prices rise, cities, states, and countries are rapidly shifting to LED to reduce demand for their power grids.

Consumers are also quickly realizing the benefits. LED lights have a duration of tens of thousands of hours. Because of their long service lives, people may never see the LED lights in the lamp for a lifetime. In fact, the service life of LEDs is about 100,000 hours, or more than 11 years.

17、Ecology: Green Life

The LED has a long life, so fewer bulbs are replaced and fewer bulbs are thrown away. Because LEDs use electricity very effectively, greenhouse gas emissions are also reduced.

Traditional lighting sources, such as fluorescent lamps, use chemicals such as mercury, while the LED uses phosphors and other safe materials without creating a negative ecological footprint. Fluorescent lamps have specific disposal instructions, but LEDs can be simply recycled.

The primary reasons why LED lighting benefits the environment are two: first, LED lighting uses less energy, which reduces energy demand and thus requires less electricity. For a single house, the impact on the wider environment is negligible, but if we all exchange it out, then the energy needs will be greatly reduced.

Remember that about 10–20% of the average household energy costs are used to cover lighting costs—tthis does not even consider workplace lighting. Another reason why LED lighting helps protect the environment is that the light bulb itself can be recycled. CFL bulbs are old, energy-efficient bulbs that take some time to use and contain mercury. This means they need to be handled in a safer way to ensure the dump is not contaminated.

Less power and replacement product use throughout the life cycle of LED products; more energy savings in transportation, packaging, and maintenance compared to conventional lamps. All this adds up to lower carbon dioxide emissions, a win-win for you and the environment. Because LED lights are very efficient, they are perfect for supplementing renewable energy sources such as solar panels or wind power.

18、Variable modelling

Aside from the familiar ordinary lamps, LED can also be used for other products that require lighting, such as outdoor plant modeling, landscape LOGO, and so on.

19、high standard

With the rise of LED, they must adhere to strict international standards for regulation and testing.

One of the most concerning issues with LED lighting relates to photobiology, an area of research investigating the interaction of visible light with biological organisms. The European IEC-62471 standard was created in 2006 to address the growth of LED lights and their unique blue light hazards. Prolonged exposure to the high-intensity blue light produced by the LED can strain and even damage the retina, causing cataracts and local burns on the eye.

In addition to these, there are records of effects on people who are frequently exposed to blue light, especially during the night. Nocturnal exposure to blue light suppresses melatonin levels, which in turn affects circadian rhythms, leading to insomnia, fatigue, and a potentially increased risk of diabetes and cancer.

IEC-62471 aims to unify the test procedures for white light lighting products in the lighting space. This standard requires the testing of all products that meet this description. This is an ideal response to a newly popularized technology whose long-term effects on the human body remain to be reliably seen.

20、Increase productivity

LED can greatly improve the safety of the working environment and is an excellent choice for emergency lighting. They also help create a happier and healthier workplace, thereby reducing the risk of diseases such as morbid building syndrome and their side effects, such as depression, low energy, and irritability.

According to studies, tissues that use an LED have higher levels of productivity.LED lighting affects mood and performance, so proper lighting is very important. LED lights mimic natural light and thus have a higher color rendering index.

21、instantly lit up

LED lights turn on and off instantly, with no blinking (unlike many CFLs) and no need for a warm-up period.

Traditional energy-saving lamps take a long time to turn on and reach their maximum brightness. Entering the room to find something missing and having to wait 2 minutes until the bulb is heated enough to illuminate the room is not ideal. With LED bulbs, you will experience the same instant lighting as with incandescent bulbs. This is not a big deal, but for many people, it can be a decisive factor!

22、Reduce insects

There is ample evidence that LED products are less attractive to insects, which means less maintenance and cleaning efforts.

Traditional lamps emit ultraviolet light, and LEDs do not emit this type of light, allowing LED lamps to attract insects. But according to online commentators, not all types of LED are common, so you need to be careful when choosing LED lamps.

23、Less lighting is needed

The LED has a better quality of light distribution than incandescent or CFL lamps and can focus the light in one direction. Other types of lighting waste energy by emitting light in all directions, usually illuminating areas that need no light (such as the ceiling). This means that fewer LED lights are needed to reach the same brightness levels as fluorescent and incandescent bulbs. Fewer lights will reduce energy consumption and therefore be environmentally beneficial.

24、Reduce wiring

Because LED lamps have lower power than traditional lamps, they can have more lighting fixtures on a distribution circuit when the lamps are distributed. This means reducing the number of wires and labor costs.

25、Reduce your light consumption.

LED lighting is designed to focus its light and redirect it to a specific location without using an external reflector, thus achieving higher application efficiency than conventional lighting. A carefully designed LED lighting system can more efficiently transmit light to the desired location. LEDs and motion sensors can also be dimmed to dynamically control light, color, flexibility, and distribution.

26、low-voltage power supply

Because the LED works at low voltage, it is ideal for outdoor use in camping, garden rooms, solar applications, and remote areas. You can also use a smaller volume of mobile lighting fixtures to save space in your car during outdoor activities.

In other cases, the LED operates at a very low voltage. This makes them suitable for other outdoor lighting applications where lighting may not conform, such as waterfront homes with houses located in a flood zone.

27、There is no need to replace accessories.

LED bulbs run with less power, last longer, come in different colors, and are more favorable for the environment. What are the other reasons for switching to LED lighting?

Well, because LED light bulbs have become so popular, it is now possible to replace almost every type of lamp in the home with an equivalent LED. When they first came out, the number of LED accessories was limited, but now you can get the spotlight (GU 10 and MR 16), bayonet accessories, Edison screws, and even LED light strips. We even have a customer who wants to replace their refrigerator lights with LED lights, so whatever your requirements, LED lights can meet your needs.

One thing to note is to use LED bulbs with 12-volt electrical circuits (such as MR16 bulbs). To reduce the supply voltage to 12 volts, an external transformer is usually used, but the transformer must be able to work with the LED bulb, i.e. it must be a LED transformer. The reason for this is that the transformer usually needs a little load to run at about 40 watts. If you replace the 7 MR16 bulbs in the kitchen circuit with their LED equivalents, you will reduce the load passing through the transformer from 350w to 35w. This means that the transformer will not work properly, and the result will be a flashing light.

If you do any remodeling work, we always recommend that you keep the lighting at 240 volts, but you can still buy an LED transformer if your existing lights work at 12 volts. In most cases, we found that it is best to replace accessories and LED bulbs (so replace the MR16 bulbs with new GU10 accessories and GU10 LED bulbs).

We’ve introduced this a bit, but the design of LED lamps means they are the most effective way to illuminate the space. This is one of the primary reasons why LED lighting is the preferred method for customers to meet maximum watt energy specifications per square foot.

28、Smaller volume

The actual LED device is very small. Small-power devices can be less than one-tenth of their volume, while high-power devices can still be as small as a square millimeter. Because of their small size, LEDs are ideal for a wide range of lighting applications.Different uses of the LED include a wide range from circuit board lighting and traffic signals to modern mood lighting, residential and commercial property applications, and even lighting in major sports venues.

  • Non-toxic elements

LED lamps do not contain toxic elements. Most offices currently use fluorescent light bands that contain toxic chemicals such as mercury. When treated as a landfill, this will pollute the environment. Disposal must be arranged through registered waste carriers, so switching to an LED can save money and time on compliance disposal while also protecting the environment from more toxic waste.

  • No ultraviolet radiation

The LED emits the vast majority of its energy in the visible spectrum, emits a little energy in the infrared spectrum, and has almost no energy in the ultraviolet part of the spectrum. This means that the LED can safely and reliably illuminate UV-sensitive objects, such as art, which can degrade over time if exposed to this type of radiation.
